Many people think of lush foliage and beautiful flowers when they think of plants in Hawaii. Actually, the state has many subclimates, which include dry deserts and brush land as well as the more familiar tropical climate. This cactus grows in Maui.

The nice thing about b&w is that is isolates the subject of the image and focuses on texture and composition without the distraction of colour. This is a really nice shot. Very nicely lit as well
